SUMMARY:From recognition to reporting: Webinar on Practical use of The Med Safety App for reporting suspected ADRs
DESCRIPTION:The South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) invites healthcare professionals to attend a webinar on the practical reporting of suspected adverse drug reactions (ADRs) using the Med Safety App. \n  \nBuilding on the AEFI webinars conducted in April 2026\, this interactive session is designed to strengthen participants’ knowledge\, confidence\, and practical skills in reporting suspected ADRs and adverse events following immunisation (AEFIs). Through live demonstrations and case-based examples\, participants will learn how to submit complete and meaningful reports using the Med Safety App and understand their important role in strengthening medicine safety surveillance. \n  \nWhat to Expect \n\nA brief refresher on ADRs and the importance of reporting.\nGuidance on what should be reported and who can report.\nDemonstration of how to access and navigate the Med Safety App.\nStep-by-step completion and submission of an ADR report.\nPractical medicine case examples.\nCommon reporting mistakes and how to avoid them.\nAn overview of what happens after a report is submitted to SAHPRA.\nInteractive questions and answers.\n\n\nLearning Outcomes\nBy the end of the webinar\, participants will: \n\nUnderstand the importance of reporting suspected ADRs.\nIdentify which reactions should be reported through the Med Safety App.\nConfidently navigate and use the App.\nSubmit complete and useful ADR reports.\nIncorporate electronic ADR reporting into routine professional practice.\n\n  \nParticipants are encouraged to download the Med Safety App before the webinar to follow the demonstration on their own devices. \n  \nKey Message\nRecognise it.
