SAHPRA Advisory on the Use of Unregistered Veterinary Products

As stewards of animal health and welfare in South Africa, veterinarians carry a profound responsibility to uphold the highest standards of animal care and professional integrity. Considering recent concerns relating to the use of unregistered veterinary products, SAHPRA wishes to draw your attention to the serious risks and caution veterinary practitioners on the use of unregistered veterinary products in clinical practice.

While the pressure to reduce costs and meet client expectations is understandable, the use of products that have not been registered or approved by regulatory authorities poses serious risks to animal health, public safety, and the reputation of the profession
